چکیده

To evaluate the effect of beverages (coffee, tea, Cola-Cola, and mineral water) on color stability resin-based composite (RBC) materials modified with different nanoparticles (NPs). The specimens (70/beverage) were fabricated from light-cured RBCs divided according to NPs into four groups: one control, unmodified (N0); three experimental—ZrO2 (Zr), TiO2 (Ti), SiO2 (Si) groups. Each experimental group was further subdivided two subgroups NP concentrations: 3 wt.% 7 (n = 10). A spectrophotometer used assess change (∆E) before after six months immersion. Data analyzed compared using one-way-ANOVA followed by Bonferroni’s post-hoc test (α 0.05) subsequently ∆E value conversion National Bureau Standards (NBS) units. ZrO2, TiO2, demonstrated smaller changes immersion in than (p < 0.001). Zr groups showed lowest ΔE, Ti Si groups; a 3% concentration resulted lower mean ΔE 7% concentration. NBS findings that coffee tea produced marked unacceptable (NBS units >3), Coca-Cola noticeable between 1.5 3), while water slight ≤ 1). Modification both concentrations as well SiO2, may improve its stability. Based results, immersed clinically acceptable changes, those unacceptable.

The color stability of silorane- and methacrylate-based resin composites.

The purpose of this study were to evaluate the discoloration of a silorane-based resin and two methacrylated-based resin composites upon exposure to different staining solutions coffee, red wine, porcine liver esterase and distilled water for 7 days. The colors of all specimens before and after storage in the solutions were measured by a spectrophotometer based on CIE Lab system, and the color ...

Effect of energy density on color stability in dental resin composites under accelerated aging.

The effects of the energy density that is used for polymerization on properties of dental resin composites are well known. However, few studies relate color stability to this factor. The aim of this study was to assess color changes (deltaE*), in vitro, in terms of accelerated aging under UV exposure of specimens prepared with different energy densities. Four commercial dental resin composites ...

Effects of Mouth Rinses on Color Stability of Resin Composites

OBJECTIVES The aim of this study was to evaluate the effects of 3 commercially available mouth rinses on the color stability of 4 different resin-based composite restorative materials. METHODS Forty disc-shaped specimens (10x2 mm) were prepared from each of the following materials: A nanofill composite Filtek Supreme XT (3M/Espe, St. Paul, MN, USA); a packable low-shrinkage composite, AeliteL...

Color stability of resin composites after immersion in different drinks.

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the discoloration of two nanohybrids, two microhybrids, and a posterior composite resin restorative material upon exposure to different drinks--namely tea, cola, coffee, red wine, and water. The colors of all specimens before and after storage in the solutions were measured by a colorimeter based on CIE Lab system, and the color differences thereby calc...

Nanoparticle-reinforced resin-based dental composites.

OBJECTIVE TiO(2) nanoparticles treated with the organosilane allyltriethoxysilane (ATES) are used to improve the mechanical properties of dental resin-based composites (RBCs, Z100, 3M ESPE). METHODS TiO(2) nanoparticles were sonically dispersed in an ethanol solution containing ATES. The modified particles were washed in pure ethanol and dried before being used as filler. Fourier transform in...
